Our Story

This House Was Built for You

“My Father’s house has many rooms.” — John 14:2

We did not choose to build Moon Haven.

We loved the home we were in and had no desire to leave. But circumstances brought us here, and after months of resistance, frustration, and honestly, a fair amount of complaining, we finally chose to trust YHWH and say yes to something we did not yet fully understand.

Before the walls went up, we gathered our family inside the unfinished frame of this house. We sat in camping chairs, shared Subway sandwiches, and dedicated this home back to the One who had entrusted it to us. We told our children, “This is not our house. It belongs to YHWH. He has simply entrusted us to care for it on His behalf.”

Then we walked through every room and wrote Scripture on the studs and beams. We covered this home with prayers, promises, and verses that have shaped our lives. Those words remain here today, hidden behind every wall.

We see Moon Haven as a place marked by His presence. Many people have told us they feel a sense of safety and peace when they walk through the door. To us, that is not an accident. We believe what they are feeling is Him.

Hospitality is something we want to practice on purpose, with open hands and a willing heart. We do not want to simply wait for opportunities to welcome people, we want to look for them and listen for YHWH’s gentle nudging as He directs us. To us, hospitality is a calling, not a coincidence.

So if you find yourself here, know this: you are welcome, you are valued, and perhaps you are here for a reason.

Your own private laundry room with full-size washer and dryer. Whether you’re here for a long weekend or an extended stay, you can pack light and leave fresh. Detergent and supplies provided.

Arrive and settle in without a thought. Moon Haven features a spacious private driveway and parking area with plenty of room for multiple vehicles. No street parking, no circling the block — just pull in and you're home.

On select stays, Chef Jeaux graces the kitchen with his presence. We’re not saying every guest gets a private chef — but the kitchen is stocked, the double wall ovens are ready, and the man has been known to show up. The pot filler alone is worth the trip.

Furry Companions

Meet Bob and Milo - Moon Haven's full-time residents and unofficial greeters. Bob (the orange tabby) is the social one. Milo keeps a closer eye on things. They're part of the charm, and they may or may not claim a spot on the couch.

Private Aviary

Step onto the porch and into a front-row seat for one of nature's best shows. Moon Haven's hummingbird feeder draws a colorful cast of visitors all season long — ruby-throated, iridescent green, and jewel-toned purple. Coffee in hand, watching them hover and dart, is the kind of morning you didn't know you needed.
